We took the late flight home last night. We are waiting to board the plane. They had not even started to line anyone up yet to board. As we are sitting there the guy who takes the tickets comes up next to us to the lady in a wheel chair to take her onto the plane. As he is getting her ready to board he leans over to us and very quietly says “Give me your tickets and follow me down to the plane”. He gives us a smile and we happily comply as he sneaks us on the plane before everyone else. As we board the plane the flight attendant, Kim, starts gushing over baby J, “Oh she is just so adorable”. Then the co-pilot came out to see her and asked her if she wanted to go fly the plane. Baby J said yes and climbed right up in the cockpit. The pilot had a blast with her. He was showing her all the buttons to push and the ones that would make sounds and the ones that turned on all the lights. At first she wasnt so sure of what was going on but it didn’t take her long to realize this was fun. Baby J sat in there while the entire plane loaded. We went to sit in our seats so we could take off. Then the pilot came out and gave baby J a pack of cookies. She was so excited. Kim made sure she was comfortable and then went through all the safety information and then announced baby J as the “pilot in training” and “our newest recruit” over the intercom. It was so cool. Kim even gave her extra snacks on the plane and was laughing as baby J sang songs until we landed.
We finally landed and we were gathering our bags to leave the plane. Kim knelt down and baby J gave her a big hug. Then the cockpit door opened and the pilot came out and said “were is J”. She turned around and ran back to give him a hug to. He wanted to make sure he saw her before she left. I thought that was the coolest thing. The whole crew was just amazing! I think I had just as much fun as baby J did in the cockpit. It was just so cool to see everything up close and personal. Southwest Airlines Rocks!!! And bags fly free!! LOL LOVE THEM! So glad my Uncle works for them!
