Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

17 Mar

Hope you all have a great day!  Corn beef and cabbage is a must.  It is also a great healthy meal that we can eat.  So this is a major plus.  No green beer for me today.  Although it sounds so, so good right now.  I just will not chance my progress at this point.  So instead of green beer I will be drinking green water.  LOL  Yup you got it.  But not that funky green water.  My new-found favorite drink option is Mio liquid.  This is kind of like Crystal Light but it has no calories or sodium in it.  You just shoot a squirt in the water and you are good to do.  Todays flavor is Green Thunder. So this will be my green water for the day!

We will be heading to a friend’s house and I want to make sure we don’t get caught up in a bunch of calories so we will be bringing Rainbow Fruit Skewers.  A little bit of Irish rainbow for everyone.  This is a great recipe that I got from  I love this website and there are so many healthy options.  This will ensure we have some healthy options to help get us through the day.  Dont they look great!

So the game plan is to fill up on a lot of green water and munch on fruit.  I will also pack some healthy low-calorie snacks as a backup just in case.  It should be a great day!

What are your plans for the day?

    An Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
    Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of
    his hand.

I think they taste great. They dont have any funny after taste like other things do and you can control how much or how little you want to add. The fruit skewers did not last long at all. LOL Guess they were a hit.
