Where to begin?

08 Jan

Well I guess we need to backtrack a little bit back to December 10th.  The day it all began……….

Yes that is the day – the day I got this.

Smiley +opk

In the world of TTC (Trying To Conceive) this little smiley face is one of the happiest things you can see.  It means you will be ovulating within the next 12-36 hours so you better get busy.  In lesbo land, that means you better have sperm ready to go.  Good thing we did.

December 10th and 11th we did home inseminations with donor sperm and buckled down for the dreaded TWW (two week wait).  Ovulation occurred on December 11th and was confirmed by a temp shift on December 12th.

By 3dpo (days past ovulation) I was nauseous.  I knew something was up.  Either I was KTFU (knocked the fuck up) or I ate something bad.  5dpo and 6dpo I was sick again.  So I knew I had to be preggo.  I took a test at 7dpo and I had the very faintest of lines – so faint I wasn’t convinced it was a true BFP or just an evap line.  I tested again 8dpo and again had a very faint line but a little more visible.  Another test at 9dpo, December 20th, and there was a nice line.  It was positive!!  We got a BFP!!!!

FRER +HPT 9dpo

We were in shock and very excited.  By 12dpo there was no denying the fact that I was pregnant

Still in shock and 12 tests later…………

Baby 2.0 test

Yes 12 tests later – I needed to be sure that line was getting darker and I will spare you all 12 tests 🙂 – brings us to Sunday, January 6th.  I started having lower lefts side abdominal pain.  It started as a dull pain and then progressed as the day went on to a more sharp, stabbing pain.  It went through my abdomen into my lower back and down my leg.  I was waiting for the blood to start.  I knew something was not right.  I have been nervous this whole time that I would miscarry again and I was extremely paranoid.  Around 2am Sunday morning I woke up to the most excruciating pain in my lower left abdomen.  I planned to call the doctor in the morning about the pain but now I was debating just going to the emergency room.  I waited it out and did the best I could to try to get comfortable.  Nothing helped.  By 5am I got up and waited for the doctors to open.

I called and was told to come in immediately for an ultrasound.  By this time the intense pain had subsided and I was left with a moderate amount of pain and discomfort.  The ultrasound tech did a vaginal ultrasound since I was only 5 weeks 6 days pregnant – if I still was.  After looking around for a few minutes she said I had a few cysts on my right side and it looks like I had a cyst rupture on my left side.  She said I had lots of fluid in there and that is usually from a ruptured cyst.  Then she went moved the wand and we saw this.

Baby 2.0

The best thing we could have seen yesterday.  This is baby 2.0. That is our little peanut sitting snugly in my uterus and measuring right on track for 5 weeks 6 day.  She said she didn’t see a heartbeat yet but that it was still so early she didn’t really expect to.  She said everything looked great.

According to babygaga if you look really close to the ultrasound picture you will be able to see baby 2.0.  It looks like this.

6weeks

Can you see it?  LOL

A quick check in with the Dr. and I was told to take it easy and the worst of it should be over and I should start to feel better.  I asked about the heartbeat and she said we should be able to see it when we come back in two weeks for our 8 week appointment and she was not worried at this point.  I asked about running and she told me to not do anything strenuous until we get a confirmed heartbeat, no running – no exercise.  So I am to take it easy and relax for two weeks.  We will talk about working out and running at my next appointment.

At this point we are blessed and relieved to know that we are 6 weeks pregnant today and the baby is doing great.  We couldn’t be happier and at the same time couldn’t be more nervous.
