About Us

With as hokey as it sounds, yes it was love at first site.  We met while attending the same church and we both had hurdles to overcome before we would official be together.  We have been married together for 7 years now.  We live in a state where same sex marriages are not legal.  We never felt the need to go to another state to get married just to have a piece of paper that says we are but never have any legal right in our state or federally.  Last year with the striking down of DOMA we decided it was now time for us to go get married.  We finally would have federal rights.  We went to New York and got married on our 7 year anniversary.    It was beautiful and perfect.  We had our reception back at home.  Despite when we legally got married, we have always been 100% committed and married to each other just as any other couple would be.  We never needed some piece of paper to tell us that.  Our love is more than that.  Staying together and raising a family because we choose to and not because the state says we have to says we are committed.  It is wonderful to actually have that piece of paper now and to have federal right.

Together we have been though many loves and losses, many tears and much laughter, and we created the most wonderful little girl in this world.  Baby J is an absolute delight and she truly made us a family.  I was diagnoses with MTHFR while trying to conceive our second child.  Baby J is our little miracle and we are so bless to have her and be parents.

We are runners and we workout to stay healthy and fit.  Our daughter also loves to run and we are thrilled she does and we are setting a wonderful example to her.

We are your not so average, average family.  Together we will make it through anything.

This blog is a way for us to share our stories with others and to keep in touch with our family and friends.  You will also find that we are very protective of our daughter and we will try to ensure her privacy as much as possible.  This being said there will be posts that will be private.  These posts will be mostly for family and will be password protected.

Now you know who we are, tell us who you are.

We saw our wonderful fertility doc today. I have an extensive hematology background, actually its my speciality. I have the mthfr mutation. Do either of you know anything about this? I know the medical side but this is personal. Any guidance would be appreciated

Yes it is all about timing! I went to the doctor to be checked out, tried Clomid, tried taking OTC meds and it wasn’t until we started using the instead cups and getting a perfectly timed cycle that we got our little girl. I am going to assume you are charting your temps. I used and still do use, Taking Charge of your Fertility. TCOYF It is free to use online but fairly inexpensive to just buy and use on your computer at home. I have my cycle down to a science now. LOL Don’t give up hope. If you have any questions I am happy to help. 🙂
